Week 2-Favorite Quote

“We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.”
Stacia Tauscher

I love this quote because so many times people focus on what children need to know before kindergarten and then to pass standardized tests. They forget to let children be kids and enjoy those little moments when they learn something new or experience something for the first time.

  1. Your quote is so true, the pressure that is put on children now is every changing and there is so much pressure on our preschool teachers to try to get the "Ready" for kindergarten and still maintain the Developmentally Appropriate practices of what early childhood education should be.

  2. I have never heard this quote before. I love it and cannot wait to share it with my co-workers and anyone else that will listen ;) We do forget that children are capable of only so much and we need to focus on who they are in the now and not the future. This quote is especially meaningful to me as a mother. I get caught up in thinking of my son in the future and realize he is a 6 year old boy and only capable of so much. Thank you for sharing this quote. It will help keep me in perspective of what my child can do and what I expect him to do.
